Our Firm

The Law Offices of Taylor & Taylor has been specializing in criminal defense for over 39 years — since it’s founding in 1979 by the nationally-known criminal defense attorney, lecturer and author, Lawrence Taylor.  With its criminal lawyers averaging over 29 years of experience in both prosecuting and defending those accused of crimes, it remains one of the premier criminal defense firms in Southern California.

Adding to its reputation and experience, the firm further benefits from its unique support staff of former law enforcement officers and DMV license suspension hearing officers.

The firm of criminal attorneys is one of the few to be certified by the California State Bar to provide continuing legal education to other criminal defense attorneys, and has the further distinction of having 3 of its former criminal lawyers appointed to the bench and currently serving as judges.

The Law Offices of Taylor & Taylor has the distinction of having been featured twice in the American Bar Association Journal, and has been listed in Who’s Who in American Law annually since 1989 as well as in the prestigious Bar Registry of Preeminent Lawyers since 1998.  Further, the Martindale-Hubbell International Law Directory continues to grant the criminal defense firm the coveted “A-V” rating (“very high to preeminent”).

The firm of criminal attorneys continues to receive the highest client reviews and rankings from Google and Yelp. And the firm has received an “A+” rating from the Better Business Bureau for the past 13 years, as well as AVVO’s client-based ranking of “Superb” for each of its 4 criminal lawyers.

The national reputation of The Law Offices of Taylor & Taylor, together with its experience, specialization and technical support, translates into success for its clients both in the criminal courts of Southern California.

The Law Offices of Taylor & Taylor continues to be guided by its founder, Lawrence Taylor.  Mr. Taylor is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and the UCLA School of Law, and proudly served in Asia with the U.S. Marine Corps.  He has been a Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney, was appointed an independent special prosecutor by the Attorney General of Montana to investigate governmental corruption, and was subsequently honored with a Fulbright Professorship to teach law at Osaka University in Japan.

He is the author of 13 books on various criminal law subjects, and has lectured to criminal defense attorneys at over 200 legal seminars in 38 states.  He was one of the original 10 founders of the 2200-member National College for DUI Defense, serving on its Board of Regents and as its first Dean.

Mr. Taylor has been named a “Southern California Super Lawyer” in surveys of over 65,00 fellow attorneys for 11 of the past 13 years, and has been honored with the “Richard Erwin Lifetime Achievement Award” presented at Harvard Law School.
